We live in an age where information is in the palm of our hands, within seconds we get the information with the snap of our fingers. This also depends on whether we have good Wi-Fi. We as humans always want to be informed, we are curious creatures learning and absorbing new things every day. People have different interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes. The two different blogs I looked up were on the different sides of the spectrum, one was about cryptocurrency and the other was a Hollywood tabloid.
Bitcoin was invented pseudonymous individual, or group named Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. cointelegraph To my knowledge, Bitcoin is elusive and cryptic with extraordinarily little limits to its uses. I know little about the concept but have always been interested in knowing how it works. The article I read talked about how the worth of Bitcoin has fallen under $60,000 which is an all-time low for the company and had to liquidate over $143 million in assets to balance out the loss. With its continual loss of value, they believe investors are becoming leerier on the desire to invest. The Hollywood tabloid that I saw was looking up was talking about how Ryan Seacrest is the new host for Wheel of Fortune and how Vanna White did not know that they would have such a great onstage chemistry. I have never been much of a fan of Hollywood tabloids. Though I have always dreamed of being on stage and wanting to be an actor. The need to know what everyone in Hollywood is doing was never that appealing.
The formatting of these two websites was very noticeable coming from a web developer perspective I always look at the user-friendly accessibility. Cointelegraph is formatted in a way to allow you information regarding the trade and information about the exchange of Bitcoin or any type of cryptocurrency. TMZ has a lot of videos, ads, and pictures of celebrities, products, or details on podcasts. TMZ is an easy read but still busy on the page. Cointelegraph is clean, well formatted, and informative.
The author’s narrative in both blogs was to inform the reader on the update changes in either the crypto world or Hollywood. For example, Cointelegraph purpose is to inform the investors, or anyone interested in crypto is to see the daily changes with that exchange. It always had the feel of the Wall Street Journal. TMZ was for a different audience wanting the ins and outs of Hollywood's innermost thoughts, feelings, and secrets.
In summary, depending on the website, how it is formatted, and what it says will depict whether we will continue to look at it. User-friendly accessibility plays a pivotal role in whether we are willing to stay on the page and click around and do further research on the site. Information is at our fingertips. We can look up anything and decide for ourselves what we want to be entertained by.
